FESA Emergency Services Complex
BEST Consultants Pty Ltd have been appointed as the Electrical, Lifts and Fire Services Consultants for this critical service building located at Cockburn Central. The new facility comprises of approximately 7500m2 of commercial office space, distributed over three building levels and accommodates the new FESA Emergency Services Call Centre. The services designs were not only required to achieve a high level of reliability and system integrity to suit the criticality of the building, but also a 4.5 star NABERS rating was also required. Critical systems included within the design were:
- Standby generator.
- Central UPS distributed throughout the building.
- Fire control and response measures to suit the architectural layout and critical nature of the building.
- Call system server room.
- The design of the new call facility centre required an extensive research process including significant involvement from the various Stakeholders. With extensive use of projector and plasma display technology, alternative room lighting systems were investigated including ‘blue’ lamp system to minimize operator discomfort. This development is due for completion in 2010.
